Carrying momentum from his first ARCA win in June, Austin Theriault captured 2nd place in the Southern Maine Chrysler Dodge Jeep 150 at Beech Ridge Motor Speedway.
Depite struggling to find the right balance for the No. 57 Southern Maine Chrysler Dodge Jeep super late model early in the day, Theriault and the AT Racing crew worked hard to make the proper changes throughout practice and qualifying. With the 4th starting positon in the feature Theriault had the track position but many strong cars all around him.
Theriault battled within the top-3 for the first 50 laps of the race but a tight condition in the car after the first caution would drop him to 6th. Contending with lapped traffic and keeping up with the lead pack Theriault battled his way up to the 4th position. With a straightaway between him and the top-3 Theriault held his line and turned clean laps slowly closing the gap.
A caution on lap 107 brought the field back together. Theriault took advantage of the restart and muscled his way into 3rd.
Subsequent cautions make for a great final 25 laps of the race with Theriault battling door to door with leader Joey Doiron and finally settling into the 2nd position where he would remain for the final laps.
Austin would like to thank the fans who came out to watch him race in Maine and he hopes to see some of you at New Hampshire Motor Speedway next weekend. A special thank you goes out to the AT Racing crew who worked hard to improve the car and helped Austin bring home another podium finish.
